Product Description The Channel Master STEALTHtenna Amplifier is a special amplifier designed to fit inside the 3010 STEALTHtenna. The passive board that is inside the 3010 antenna will be removed and the 3038 board will take its place. The 3038 offers 15 dB of gain to improve weak signals and overcome loss in long cable runs. This amplifier only works with the 3010 Stealthenna.

It does work July 12, 2010 David Womby I live about 35 miles from TV towers in my area. I bought the antenna without the amplifier and had weak signals still on 4 channels. So weak that they would break up and lose the signal totally for about half the time. The amplifier improved the signal strength on 2 of the channels so that they break up only about 10% of the time but did not improve the remaining 2 channels at all. This amplifier did actually work as advertised but I think I am just too far from the transmitting towers for it to manage to help me on all channels. Bottom line - probably good if you are having problems but are closer to the transmitter - say less than 30 miles?
Mixed results... March 6, 2010 C. Eargle Very easy to install, drop-in replacement for the stock PCB that came with the STEALTHtenna 3010. Have been using the stock antenna for about 2 years to provide signal for two HDHomeRun tuners. Once pre-amp 3038 was installed, actually received poorer signals on most channels (about 75% signal from operating without pre-amp) and lost one channel altogether. Not sure if the unit was faulty, but attempting to return. 3 stars for the ease of installation.
Receiving signals from Mars in HD! Nanu Nanu November 2, 2009 G. Merino (west palm beach Fl) Works great very happy with the increased reception. I am now receiving twice as many channels as before. Three of which I never even knew I could receive, very impressed. All come in crystal clear in Hd and there is a noticeable amount in the quality of the reception, less skips when signal fluctuates due to outdoor weather. Highly satisfied. Shipped faster than expected and easy to install in less than a few minutes.
Coax threaded barrel "female" connector SNAPPED OFF! October 6, 2009 George J. Perkins (Madison Wisconsin) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased both the matching Channel Master STEALTHtenna 3010 antenna and the Channel Master 3038 preamplifier and carefully installed them on my roof in a temporary configuration to find the ideal mounting location for the mast. When it was time to transfer to antenna to the permanent mast I attempted to release the coax cable downlead (hex nut on threaded barrel) which snapped off the connector. I examined the circuit board of this antenna to see if it could be repaired, and discovered that the threaded barrel connector was simply a few solder joints on the circuit board - there is no mechanical strength to this design at all! BEWARE. First, if you haven't purchased this product, then DO NOT. If you have purchased it, sorry; you will need to attach your coax connector VERY CAREFULLY and NEVER attempt to remove it in the future. You must ASSUME that if you have need to change out the coax cable for any reason the connector will NOT come off the antenna. Therefore, you will have to CUT the cable and reterminate (thus adding a signal loss by splicing). If I hadn't already discarded the shipping package, receipt, etc., I would attempt to return this product.
Great at 30.1 miles July 5, 2009 Brian@Norman 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I already wrote a review on the 3010, but I required the pre-amp due to distance. At 30.1 miles it works great and I have no signal interuption due to trees.
