surprised March 3, 2010 Vincent Gayoso (Jupiter, Fl, US)
Expected garbage, this antenna does the trick.. ten minutes to install.. 27 channels
Good little antenna March 1, 2010 David Ellington (Webb, MS USA) This little antenna was tested with other antenna's much larger and with a little more gain. I was looking for a butt mount antenna that would pick up digital UHF and VHF High Band stations up to 35 miles away. The RCA ANT751 antenna worked fine at that distance and even picked up a LPTV Channel 9 station 30 miles away at only 10 feet high. However, it had to be pointed right at the station's transmitter site for a solid signal. The ANT751 antenna is great to mount on a house without the need for puting up a tower or pole. The mount is simular to satellite dish mounts. This item had free shipping, which ended up costing about $45.00 for the antenna.
Biggest Little Antenna February 24, 2010 M. Sadowski (Mesa AZ) This is an outstanding antenna for its size. I was a bit skeptical about purchasing it since it was maybe a quarter of the size of my old one but I was pleasantly surprised. The TV towers are around 30 to 35 miles away from my home but this little antenna pulls in the stations like they were next door. I receive even more channels than I did with my old one. I pull in around 48 channels now compared to the 38 I received before and the picture quality is crystal clear. I didn't realize that there would be that much of a difference between my old antenna and the new digital antenna's. I would highly recommend this antenna.
Far superior to an indoor antenna February 17, 2010 E. Jarvis (Colorado) This thing rocks. I mounted it on the roof where the previous owners had a directTV dish mounted, only about 12 feet off the ground. It receives KUSA (NBC, RF channel 9, high VHF) out of Golden, CO, perfectly, which was my goal as I wanted to watch the winter Olympics. Pretty impressive considering that the antenna's specs refer to its 40-mile range, but that tower in Golden is over 60 miles from my house. I tried multiple indoor antennas and none received that channel.
I can't believe I almost subscribed to basic cable. I'm delighted that I don't have to pay for something that's "free." Yes, it required spending the money on the antenna, but even with shipping cost it equated to the price of one month of basic cable and its installation.
Perfect for Digital Reception February 17, 2010 Eric Pi (New Jersey, USA) I live in a fairly good reception area-- about 15 miles from the broadcast towers. (Not terribly far.) However, I never had great luck with our indoor / amplified antenna-- I would adjust and fiddle with it endlessly. It got good reception one day, but nothing the next. Making matters worse, our ABC affiliate (WPVI Philadelphia) broadcasts on VHF low, meaning I can't just use the nice, compact UHF antennas. Instead, I had to use one with the larger telescoping antennas.
I finally got fed up with adjusting the indoor antenna, and got the RCA ANT751. The antenna itself is reasonably compact. Installation was a snap: I laid it on the floor of my garage attic (I never go there, so didn't mind using up the floor space), pointed it vaguely in the direction of the broadcast towers, ran the cable-- and got perfect reception on the first try. Both UHF and VHF stations came in fine.
The best part is that my room looks a lot nicer without the indoor antenna. Definitely happy with the purchase.
