| Customer Reviews: Inferior to a plain wire January 23, 2010 Timothy Masters (Brackney, PA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I live in the country, far from FM stations. I have a pair of plain wires strung along the wall behind my desk, and this setup lets me get a few stations with moderate quality. So it was with great hope that I bought this fancy amplified antenna.
Sigh. Just for fun, I first tried it unamplified, just connected straight to my receiver. Nothing. I couldn't get a single station! Then I hooked up the amplifier. I could then get the same stations as with my wire, but with noticably weaker, more static-filled sound than I got from my plain wire.
I played with the control a lot. I tried rotating the antenna, even laying it flat. No matter what I did, I could not match the modest quality I got with a plain wire. Crazy.
Nothing special October 23, 2009 Hojo (Virginia) I bought this antenna the other day, showed up very quick so I was happy about that. The antennae worked almost as good as the one built into my radio already. The connector that went to the radio broke almost immediately when one of my coworkers tried to adjust it. Bottom line, save your money and just use the antenna built onto your radio. If you don't have an antenna on your radio then this would be ok.
Great HD antenna July 28, 2009 Jen K. (Austin, TX) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This antenna immediately improved my HD reception and pulled in a troublesome HD2 station. I have a PolkAudio ISonic and I have been really frustrated by several Terk antennas that I have used. Problem solved with this one. It pulls in my favorite HD2 station right away and doesn't drop the station when I walk in front of the radio. Wonderful!
Worked great for me! June 3, 2009 AJMan (CA USA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I bought the PowerQ portable HDTV antenna, and had great results with it, so I though I would try their FM stereo antenna too. It was simple to hook up and the reception was much better than the wire dipole that originally came with my Onkyo stereo receiver. Didn't make sense to use the cheapo $2 antenna that came with it, after all it is a $900 receiver. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of stations it picked up with ease. Plenty of quieting with no background hissing and noise like other antennas. I have tried two antennas from Terk with no luck. I highly recommend this product!
