With the antenna that came with my receiver which was a piece of wire. I received 7 stations with static.
I bought this antenna and put it on the roof 12 inches above the peak. Which really they recommend putting it higher. But with the antenna only 12 inches above the peak I receive 27 stations very clear. Great Product !! Most of the radio stations I'm receiving is about 23-28 miles away.

although not completely omni-directional;it pulls in distant stations once some experimentation is done, and once the orientation is found, it can pull in most of my favorite long distance stations;the small size makes it wonderfull inside my attic room.
