Amazon.com Product Description
The high-performance HDTVa amplified indoor HDTV antenna from Terk Technologies is designed to capture both UHF and VHF signals (channels 2 to 69) while extending the reception range for all local HDTV broadcasts. The HDTVa uses an ultra-low-noise, high-gain amplifier with Terk's exclusive Dual-Drive Amplifier technology for clear reception of both distant and close HDTV and DTV stations.

As suitable for those living in city apartments as for those in suburban homes, the compact HDTVa lets viewers experience HDTV broadcasts in full resolution. Designed for total reception versatility, the HDTVa's high-gain antenna array can be oriented either horizontally or vertically within its mounting base to achieve optimum capture of off-air broadcasts.

Set the amplifier to high-gain mode to compensate for signals that are too weak or might otherwise be bypassed for a stronger signals nearby. Simplifying your installation, the HDTVa uses Terk's Power Injector to derive power via its coaxial connecting cable. The result? One cable is all you have to connect, making it easy to install the HDTVa atop or near your television.

The antenna is engineered to receive all local HDTV channels, with an operating bandwidth covering both the VHF (channels 2 to 13) and UHF (channels 14 to 69) frequency ranges. Its highly directional log periodic UHF and precision VHF elements are designed to receive HDTV broadcasts with maximum signal strength while rejecting all or most interference. The HDTVa is as exceptional in appearance as it is in performance: its curved, tapering, polished-aluminum antenna elements are mounted in a slim base with a contoured front that visually complements the curve of the antenna elements.

5 out of 5 stars Happy Viewing   July 30, 2010

I had the small RCA flat panel omni-directional prior to getting the Terk HDTa. So far, so GREAT! I can pick up about 20-30 more channels now. That's really saying something because I live on the bottom of 3 floors in an apartment complex. I prefer that's its a directional antenna because I can point the unit at the signal (there's info in the manual about getting the best reception). The price was great and it shipped for free. Wish I had gotten it sooner.

This antenna works very well. only one thing, it should have a wider bass for better support.

4 out of 5 stars Good Reception   July 21, 2010

I live 30+ miles due west of Chicago and this antenna pulls in all the over-the-air HD stations. It is perched in a dormer window of the attic with a clear view east. It is very sensitive to placement, so you have to play with it a bit to find the best placement. Even a slight adjustment will change the signal. I also installed a signal booster to amplify the signal as it is sent to 3 different locations in the house. Even the weakest signal--CBS--is viewable. (With good weather.) During storms--rain & snow--the signal is degraded, but that is to be expected. The tuner you use will also greatly affect the reception. Our Sony HDTV's tuner doesn't bring in all the channels. But, the Elgato tuner attached to my Mac Mini gets everything pretty clearly--so most everything we watch is routed thru the Mac. (Which is also our DVR.) Good quality antenna.

5 out of 5 stars Nice Antenna   July 16, 2010

Just got this antenna two days ago. It works great for my HDTV and I can get more than 20 channels with high quality. One small thing is that the line is a not long enough for me to put the antenna close to the window.
But in general, this is a great antenna.

3 out of 5 stars Disappointed   July 14, 2010
Barbara G (San Francisco)
I bought this antenna to use with a LCD HDTV I installed in the guest room. While it gets most channels, it can not seem to receive the one channel I watch most, which is 33 miles away in San Jose. An old analog TV with a converter box and rabbit ears is able to receive that station, so I'm not terribly impressed with the amplification capability of the antenna. The reception is exactly the same whether the antenna is "on" "off" or unplugged! I've moved the antenna around in every position possible, and it's near a window and skylight, so I can't understand why it doesn't receive that channel. Perhaps I got a dud, but I'm less than thrilled with this product.
