| Customer Reviews: Worked for a month May 24, 2010 Ward Rice (KY) When I first purchased the HDP-269, it did improve signal reception and I was able to get channels from 50 miles away that I could not get with my antenna alone. However, it stopped working after it rained (no lightning) and is still not working. I will need to climb back on the roof to see if it is wet inside, but I would expect an item designed to be mounted outside by the antenna to be weatherproof and to last longer than 1 month. So I would give it 5 stars if it worked like it did initially, but gave it 1 star since it only worked for a month.
Slight improvement, easy to install, need another cable though April 22, 2010 maurice (BROOKLYN, NY, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I instaled this over an HD 1080 that had 2 channels pixilating. They stopped after I installed this but strangely another channel started pixilating. So, yes it seems to work but not great. NO new channels appeared as I expected. Be careful tightening the bolts as the housing is made of plastic. Also, the unit comes with one 6 foot rg6 cable but you need 2. One for the connection from the unit to the balun of the antenna and one for the transmission of power to the splitter. I think I should have gotten the stronger pre amp but was afraid it might be too strong.
Why didn't I do this back in June? December 1, 2009 Lowtech (lakeville, mn usa) For under $40, this was so easy to install. I now receive channels that I never could pull in under analog. This antenna is pushing the signal to 3 tv's, only one of which is digital. A converter box is connected to my 1987 Zenith and the picture is as clear as on the other tv's.
Major improvement to signal! October 3, 2009 John W. Knecht (TN, USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Purchased a small footprint antenna. After testing the antenna with a house distribution amp but without an amp at the antenna, I was ready to send it back for a larger antenna. But, decided to give this amp a try. What a difference it made. I can stick with the less obtrusive antenna, which will also be much easier to install. Well worth the money. The product was easy to install and comes with the parts necessary for installation, and clear instructions. I highly recommend this product.
