No different than my indoor antena February 1, 2010 K. li (Mass USA) I read some other reviews said this antenna is good, buy it to replace my indoor antenna and hope it can get better HD signals. Set it up, set TV to re-scan all stations, don't even get one more station at all, it make no different than my indoor antenna. May be need to put it outdoor, set up ladder climb up on the roof top and point to the right direction, make no different again. I am not asking for much, if it get a few channels more I will keep it, but well, return it for refund.
Great product December 25, 2009 Stephen Karp (Fl, USA) Did a lot of research before purchasing the SS-2000, Mounted with supplied mast ran cable and picked up 49 digital channels after fine tuning direction picked up a total of 53 stations. All 53 coming in clear and strong. 53 sounds like a big number this number includes channels for example 12-1 12-2 12-3. Would highly recommend.
I was impressed December 1, 2009 Tommy Wood (Columbia, SC) I moved into a large new home last year and needed an off-air antenna to complement my satellite dish, and to provide FM reception for my stereo receiver. Not wanting (or being allowed) to mount an external antenna on my roof, I brought the old, gigantic Channel Master antenna I had at my old house into the attic of my new house and shoe-horned it in place. The old antenna worked great at my old house (five miles away), but was completely useless in my new attic. So I began researching antennas. The amplified Squareshooter looked like it would meet my needs--small and compact for easy attic mounting, attractive enough to hide under the eave of the roof if I had to mount it externally, and, even though the ad lists it for UHF only, nothing in the specs indicated that it would not handle VHF and FM. Plus, I could always return it if it didn't work.
I couldn't be happier with it! I've now been using it for a year and eight months. I get a strong signal for all my local channels (10, 19, 25, 35, 57, and 63) plus FM. My signal is split three times, feeding Over-The-Air broadcasts to two rooms, then splitting in each room to supply the VHF and UHF channels to a satellite receiver and the FM channels to a stereo receiver. By the way, the local stations transmitters are between 15 and 50 miles away, all contained in an approximate 90-degree arc between northeast and southeast of my home.
Gets a very good signal October 17, 2009 Andrew R. Robinson (Lone Tree, CO United States) We are 20-30 miles away from many of our TV stations and this antenna picks them up fine with no fine tweaking needed. I am in Denver, so it is hitting lookout mountain, so there is little to block the signal for many stations, but the distance is fairly far. The only station that has a low signal is PBS but it still comes in fine. I did have to mount it on the outside of my house as I tested it in my attic, basement and an upstairs bedroom, but I only got all stations on the outside of my house.
It did get a better signal than my powered bunny ears, but that is the extent of my comparison ability.
UHF antenna only! September 21, 2009 Jayman (Gainesville, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It says on the SS-2000 box- "0-40 miles high VHF", "0-50 miles UHF". I live within 20 miles of VHF DTV channel 9. Could not get any DB signal whatsoever on this antenna. Does a good job for UHF, ch. 14-51, but not for low and high VHF. *I purchased the Terk HDTVo amplified antenna (which is available thru Amazon) and it's great. It gets all VHF & UHF in my area.
