Good quality September 2, 2010 Natalie M. Bonn (North Port, Florida USA) Well packaged and well built. Received in good condition. Reception was O.K. but did not meet the reception distances stated in other reviews that I read here. Flat terrain west coast of Florida located half way between Tampa and Fort Myers with reception of around 30 to 35 miles max. with a 12db amplifier. Does do a fair job of receiving from both front and back of antenna.
Pretty good, but not strong enough for me August 30, 2010 Teddyballgame Bought the DB4 based on positive reviews on amazon, and research into other competitive offerings. Price was excellent, product delivery excellent, the product itself was compact enough and not ugly. Used the antennaweb site to determine right antenna type and location to point antenna. First tried in attic, which worked pretty good. The stations that came in, looked amazing, HD much better quality than cable. However, too many patches out during sports was too much to take. So, did the difficult task of mounting on roof, signal strength was better, but still had pixelated images every once in awhile. I live 17 miles from the stations with mature trees all around, and got about 20 stations, but pixelating out was too much too take. I had the antenna split two 2 tvs, with one of them running 100 ft of cable, so that is definitely reducing the strength, but strength on key stations was still at 70-90% and still had occasional patch problems. Returned product after trying for 30 days. Going to try the $90 clearstream product that has long range capabilities, since my cabling, pole, etc is all set up to use. This project took considerablly more time than expected, so my advice is double any expectations you have on time to set it up. I think this product is likely fantastic for areas closer or with much less coaxial cable.
No Range August 23, 2010 Mutt I bought this antenna particularly because it claims to have a range of 50 miles, which I assumed would produce a more stable picture than my 20 mile antenna. However, this was not the case. This antenna was only able to pick up the 2 closest stations to my house, which were 10 and 12 miles away, and it even struggled to get those. The other stations 30-40 miles away didn't stand a chance. Interestingly enough, I mounted my original antenna([...]) in the same location as this one and was able to pick up all my local stations! Needless to say this unit was in the box and on its way back to Amazon the very next day.
Great Product August 18, 2010 KY Reader. Great product, quick assembly, now I get all local signals (28) in Louisville, KY. Next item will be the LG 590 Blu-Ray NetFlix ready DVD and then "goodbye" to DirecTV.
Works well August 16, 2010 N. Heath (NC, USA) I bought the DB4 for use on my roof (mounted on the old dish network mount adapter). The signal strength was pretty good on most channels but a few were low. This is mainly a function of my location and where the mount is on the roof. I ended up moving the antenna into the attic (i know the instructions say not to but this worked better for me). Overall, the signal strength went down but I was able to get higher up vs. the mount on the roof (that section was on a lower piece of roof) and was able to move it around in different orientations to get a good overall signal strength. The channels come in very clear even in the attic, but I am using an amp to boost the signal to three TVs. Bottom line, its a good antenna and if you plan on mounting on the roof this is a good size. If I had realized I would end up mounting in the attic, I would probably have sprung for the DB8 because up there I'm not concerned with my neighbors complaining about a big metallic object on my roof :).
